CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina has received a third notice of allegations from the NCAA outlining violations connected to its multi-year academic fraud scandal.
UNC spokesman Rick White said in statement Wednesday that the university will publicly release the document but didn't specify when. The statement didn't comment on any changes compared to two earlier versions, both of which included five serious charges centered on a department offering irregular courses featuring significant athlete enrollments.

All UNC has to do is prove all students were offered these classes again and the NCAA will have to back off. They've proved it once already.

I feel like UNC could just say "we didnt do anything wrong" and the NCAA would just say "Okay you're off the hook."

The NCAA is going to send a message loud and clear to UNC that this is unacceptable by hammering the piss out of Coastal Carolina when one of their players eats a hot dog with more than the allowable amount of mustard.

Not saying your wrong but that's stupid. That's like stealing something and then when you get caught returning it makes everything all right.

Time for UNC Women's Rowing and Women's Field Hockey to take one for the team. Sorry gals, it is just yall's turn.

The NCAA can't tell any school what classes they have to offer. That's been UNC defense this whole time. They've proven its available to all students.
They (NCAA) can't go to say TCU and tell them you have class X that's the job of the schools accreditor. From what I understand is UNC has said yes the tutoring thing is correct we self imposed. The classes thing, we suggest you go talk to the accreditation provider and leave us alone.

Men's rowing. They threw a women's bteam under the bus last time.
I just wonder what's in the photos Roy Williams has.

Roy is a POS but the school is absolutely right on this one.
Roy destroyed KU FB and ran Mason out because of stuff he pulled in Lawerence.

Failure to monitor bro, It painfully obvious and former players have spoken out against how they were told to take classes in which they never did any work and received bogus grades. Trying to shift this off as the schools responsibility and not the AD is asinine.
from 2014:

he rarely went to class for about half his time at UNC and he remained able to play largely because he took bogus classes designed to keep athletes academically eligible.
quote:
On Wednesday, McCants also stood behind an allegation he made directly about Williams: That, when he was possibly headed toward ineligibility during the 2004-05 national championship season due to grades, Williams told him in a meeting that a summer session could be swapped out with a failed class to improve his GPA.

the reading levels of 183 UNC-Chapel Hill athletes who played football or basketball from 2004 to 2012. She found that 60% read between fourth- and eighth-grade levels. Between 8% and 10% read below a third-grade level.

Failure to monitor? That's not even part of what the previous issue was. If you want to say grade switching and forging APR then that's different than the previous allegations.
To say UNC is the only school to direct athletes to easy courses and majors is disingenuous. We put our FB guys in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Psychology at SMS due to the relative ease of the classes.
We also had them take library science and reading which were taught by our Athletic Advisors.

Aspects of the original NOA will be reinstated in the 3rd NOA, according to 247Sports. I believe this means they'll rename Men's BBall and Football.

Also, we have a long thread detailing all of the info on this case over on our board.

The new NOA, which will be the third notice for this case, will include and reinstate aspects from the original NOA. The amended NOA which was released on April 25 and had removed all references to the men’s basketball and football programs.

But in April, the NCAA filed a second notice that dropped the impermissible benefits charge while adding a failure to monitor charge, claiming UNC academic and athletic officials should have caught the scandal.
Oh ok.

Thats a total oversimplification of what was going on at UNC.
