Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

Close it down along with LSUE, LSUS, NSU, UL, ULL, and Southern. Waste of state funds.

All the talent from those lil off the grid cenla towns go to LSUA and LSUE
NAIA is a pretty terrible division but it's good to see them doing well. Is their baseball team any good?

Louisiana College used to get players from places like Pitkin.

I grew up in Cenla and went to a lot of Louisiana College basketball games when I was a kid -- LSUA didn't have a team back then. LC was pretty good back then. There's enough basketball talent between the big high schools in Alexandria/Pineville and all the little rural schools to field a solid team. I know back in the late 80s and early 90s, there were high schools in that area winning state championships in class A, class B, class C

Baseball team has been quite good. Yeah, I know it's NAIA but they'really doing well on their level and much better than Louisiana College has in NCAA III. They'really pulling talent from LA & TX primarily but from a few other states as well.

Larry will be a head coach at a big time program when its all said and done

Larry Cordaro is a better coach than Johnny Jones.
I'm not saying LSUA could beat LSU. They would get smoked. But it wouldn't be because of the gameplan.

That's my thinking. Basketball team has been in existence for three or four years, and have been nationally ranked in top five the last two years. No, I doubt their talent could beat LSU's talent. However, they have embarrassed a few mid-major NCAA D-I Teams.
A number of their games will be getting moved to the Rapides Parish Coliseum once it reopens. 2017 conference tournament will also be held at Rapides Coliseum.
I know the NAIA is not on the same level as the NCAA. Then again, the NAIA is an older association that lost a number of members to NCAA. As it stands, they are making better use of talent and doing a decent job recruiting. If kids can't do a decent NCAA D-I they will fall back to something such as NAIA as their opportunity to get playing time improves. They are able to give scholarships which NCAA D3 Louisiana College can't. Not all of LSUA's players are from Louisiana.

Somebody might want to take a look at this guy when Jones gets canned.
Keep in mind, he built the program from scratch to being nationally ranked #2 in NAIA D-1, and he did it in less than five years.

NAIA is basically equivalent to NCAA DII. Most players are on partials, with many getting very small scholarships and a tiny fraction getting full rides.
NAIA has lost a lot of membership to NCAA DII since the mid-90's or so.

Really solid team. NSU played them this year. LSUA led at halftime, Demons pulled away in the second half to win 82-69. They could compete with a decent amount of D1 teams.

Larry is a Great coach and a standout guy. He has built something really special there. His guys totally buy in and are really fun to watch. Small gym usually at capacity on game night. I agree if he keeps winning he won't be there long. He trained at LSU and Southeastern, is from Ruston and surely will move up before long. Also the team does so much in the community that they have really been embraced by everyone.

Recently toured LSUA with my daughter who will be going to college. What a terrible looking college campus.
