I guess he doesnt have Skype, FaceTime or any other form of modern communication. Never said it was in person.
Process is like this
Vet candidates
Speak to Agents
If interested, negotiate through Agent
If plausible, phone interviews
If terms are good, final interview is face to face.
This is usually how any major business hires. It's not a one day thing ordeal.

What I am calling a Power spread is similar to what I assume you are calling Veer and Shoot. In the manner of doubling at the POC with a puller either a HB or Guard. Spread the field, strech the field vertically, and then mainly run off tackle down hill.
What you are describing sounds more like the veer and shoot, which is the Briles family jewel. Unlike a lot of the big spread coaches (like Herman), they did not share secrets and tips with other coaches. Art Briles wanted to keep the system as his own, and so only a few guys who worked with him run it.
Most power spread teams, Bama, Houston and OSU this year, for example, tend to focus more on intermediate passing and attacking the edges as much, if not more than, the center in the run game. Think about where and how you saw Hurts running the ball. It was mostly attacking East-West and getting to the edge. Most of his passing also came on short and intermediate throws.
I guess you would say that the veer and shoot is just a hybrid of the air-raid and power spread. The veer and shoot and power spread share more in common that either would with a true spread option offense, like Oregon.

lane likely wanted to add in provisions for an open relationship in the prenup.

Shut the frick up retard. It doesn't matter if it's our 10th choice, as long as it's a quality OC.

He said UT. He's been at UT for one year.

Traylor would be a Home run hire as far as recruiting goes.

I know the UT QB was hurt during the later part of the season, but I read that a lot of UT fans was upset with some of the play calling in critical situations. I also read that he hadn't been a playcaller for very long. Not sure if true though. Gilbert was also a guy that I wanted to get an interview also. I'm just ready for LSU to utilize an up to date offense.
Yeah. There were a lot of complaints that he got figured out as the year went along. I heard that ad well.
The thing is, all of our candidates except Riley have major concerns or red flags. Helfrich has never been a full-time play caller. He also would bring a difficult transition. Kiffin has gone off the rails and abandoned the run game at times. Canada has had some very ordinary passing offenses and was just fired last year. So yeah, all but one has some warts to think about.

Ok. Then were his comments about waiting until after the bowl game bullshite, or is he being forced to alter his original plan because of the recruiting backlash? Or is he still waiting? He's made other comments that haven't lined up, like his conflicting messaging on QB recruiting.
Because this is all last minute bullshite
Canada wasn't even on Os radar until he was mentioned on here. Now hes flying in, 2 days after LK takes a HC. Lincoln Riley was the UH leader until 4 days ago. He was not interviewed by LSU before then. And LSU didn't offer Tua, while they were interviewing other OCs. Recruits were bailing because we appeared rudderless. So theres your timeline.
The move on the OC job didn't start until Sat, because Ed O was WAITING on LK. The binder was all about LK. O was hired based on that guarantee. Everything from that point, has been just grasping at straws
Ed O gets no rope next year. None.

yeah he'd be a terror in east texas

Traylor is well thought of in the Texas High School Coaching circles. Would definitely help with recruiting. He is a good offensive mind too.

If this has been perceived as a hard sell, its only by our doom and gloom fanbase. We're about to hire a Broyles finalist(hopefully)

It doesn't appear as though you are giving any rope now, much less next year.

There are less sandy vaginas on the Poli Board than there are here.
Some of you people sound like entitled assholes.
Assuming that if you don't know about it, it never happened.
Assuming that when info comes out, it's not true because you didn't already know.
Demanding that things happen on YOUR timeline.
Assuming rumors or hearsay are facts and crying fowl when they don't happen.

Power Spread is more of what they call Smashmouth Spread what U Meyers runs at Ohio St. They flow runs power straight to the point of contact with large Olinemen and large running backs. Remember when he was at Utah and then Florida ( A. Smith then T. Tebow) it was Spread to Run. But he adapted with what they have in the Midwest huge Olinemen.
Kiffen on the other hand is a Pro Spread has to have a smart qb to run it. Who ever comes will adapt and over come. Is what it is

I agree Briles's system is more of a hybrid. Power Spread

I'm not demanding anything. However, if our own damn recruits are speaking out publicly over their concerns with the direction of the offense, or not having a clue what is going on, that IS. A. REAL. frickING. PROBLEM.
That isn't message board bullshite. That is bad recruiting press leading into the dead period, where it likely will reverberate in an echo chamber while there is little to no new recruiting news until mid-Jan. That doesn't help us. Unfortunately, a couple of O's decisions have exacerbated this problem. This is not up for debate. It has nothing to do with entitled fans. I want to see O succeed, but right now, recruiting is not. Sticking your head in the sand does not equal support. It equals stupidity.

I like the sound of that. Getting Brennan back on board could be the beginning of things settling down in offensive recruiting. That would be excellent news.
