Was LSU ever as "all in" with Saban as Bama is?

It seems with the current situation, that our president, our clueless AD, TAF, Boosters in general, O, and the fan base, that right now no one at LSU is one the same page.
Looking back, did Saban have that "all in" at LSU that he does at Bama - now and since he was hired?
One of the reasons for Bama s current success (in addition to the red F-150s) is their total commitment to every minute aspect of the program.
I think that's what is holding us back. You know there are factions at Bama as well (those who don't want to see Saban eclipse their Bear god), but have put that aside for the good of the program.
To keep Saban in a lowly burg like Tuscaloosa, it's more than just money. He is the king of that program, and no one questions him on anything.
Did he REALLY have that blank check here?

yes, to a point.
Our administration knew what it took to win at that point.
Saban was very demanding of LSU and Skip gave him almost everything he wanted.
See the cox communication academic center and the football ops center.

the administration pretty much did everything he asked for...football ops center, the study center for athletes, probably some other stuff.
ETA: No he was always listening to other offers. I didn't understand question at first

No one has ever been as all in with any coach as Bama is with Saban

Yes and no, Saban (Sexton) was flirting with the NFL from about season 2 on. So it's a little different situation at Bama.

It helps having a president and AD on the same page with Saban. Robert Whitt and Mal Moore set that foundation with Saban, seeing how vital football was for growing the athletic department and University as a whole. It's continued with Stuart Bell and Bill Battle.

My point exactly. While Skip did work well with him, it still only got us even with many other big time programs. We weren't light years ahead of anyone else, like Bama is now.
And more troubling, since he left there doesn't seem to be any sort of the same commitment. So when everyone complains about Bama, it seems we are our worst enemy.

Mark Emmert was all in. Overruled that previous Alleva, Joe Dean in hiring Saban and for the price to hire Saban. Mark knew admissions etc would go up if investment in football. From there the administration was all in and continued until 2007 when Alleva was hired and then double whammy of F King Alexander.
NFL teams that are good organizations have good owners. Same goes on the collegiate level with AD and sometimes president.

Skip Bertman's ego let Saban slip away. Saban was torn with Miami, and Skip drew and line on salary that today is chump change. Blame Skip on not wanting to get into a salary war with Miami. Savan would have stayed.

back then it wasn't chump change. it says something when Saban, who made it known he wanted to coach in the NFL, was torn between the best offer in the history of NFL coaching offers and LSU

If Skip would have given in in 2004, we would have been right back in the same situation in 2005 with Saban flirting with the NFL, and the next time would have been post Katrina. We will never know, but would Saban had stayed to help recovery efforts post Katrina? IMO, he doesn't seem like the type. That would have been his excuse to leave.
As for the original question, I would say no program in CFB is as "locked in" as Bama. They are willing to walk the fine line on the NCAA rules to make sure every deck is stacked in their favor. Many other programs aren't willing to do that.
Also, Saban never recruited like this when he was at LSU.
