The last time we got a LB out of Alabama he turned out pretty damn good.

Yep. I wish some people would look at the Georgia thread. They aren't bashing the kid. They aren't saying his parents should go play in traffic. They are all saying hope he does well, etc.

Our fanbase is absolutely , utterly toxic. Its probably the most toxic fanbase in college football. Its sad.

Rice is the real deal. A lot of us on the Aubie board wanted him over guys ranked much higher. Very nice addition

He isn't from Georgia. Just kidding. Let kids go where they want.

He didn't commit to Florida

Why would they bash him?

Reading the GA board they thought they had this kid in the bag. Apparently he has known his recruiter from GA most of his life. Aranda with the interception..

All the talk lately has been about UGA edging out Auburn. He literally left Auburn last week and went straight to Athens.

Everyone underestimated LSU on this one.

He's seriously one of the hardest hitting coverage LBs I've seen on film. Makes great reads on the QB.

You dreary and negative sky is falling on everything jerks need to go back into your Taliban caves. We are going to end up with a tremendous class, get a great OC, and compete like crazy next year for the top of the SEC - Unless you negative pussies keep spoiling this board with doom and gloom. Recruits follow this board.

I understand what you're saying and I'm not part of the bashing crew, but this isn't the same kind of deal. If Rice was the best LB in the country, was from Athens, and committed to Florida they would be acting differently.

Some wheels and some size in the hands of Aranda

He moves well for a Mike-sized LB - could play outside if necessary - good speed downfield - good coverage skills. Great tackler - fills space and runs to the football.

He's still a little raw (needs work shedding blocks - he's making do with a pure talent advantage, but I don't think he's all that far on technique) and isn't a dominating physical specimen - but for right now, he's just what we need losing both Beckwith and Riley to the NFL.

After watching all of his highlights, this kid is a baller and a huge get. Moses was lost a long time ago. This kid will be a great player for us. Congrats to Aranda and Coach O. And welcome aboard Monty.

Aranda didn't pressure Rice into a decision and his caring nature was what stood out to Rice, who will have an opportunity to come in and play early due to him enrolling early.

"I just loved Dave Aranda. I know you don't choose a school because of the coach, but he's a real honest guy and I like him. He's smart and real caring," Rice said. "He didn't recruit me any different, there was just never any pressure at all. He wanted me and stuck with his word."

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron got the stamp of approval from Rice too.

"I think he's a real energetic guy. He knows what he's doing. Just wanted to hop on board," Rice said.
