FWIW any young person who can read labor markets and future demand curves would be chomping at the bit to be in HVAC if they can't get an engineering or mathematics degree.

This^^^, If you can work with your hands there is money to be made. Case in point, needed my 12x16 deck replaced, called 5 contractors for bids, 2 were not interested, 3 said they would be over to bid the job, 1 showed up and bid it at $9000 for straight replacement, tore the bitch off myself and made it 30% bigger (14x20) than the bid price of $9000, tore out the patio below and had a concrete contractor expand it to 20x25 ft and spent $11500 total for new deck and patio.

The irony of people at a LSU sports forum site complaining about liberal arts degrees at universities. If look at the list of majors for our football, basketball, and baseball players we wouldn't have any team if we insisted only STEM majors and no worthless liberal arts majors. Oh by the way business degrees are liberal arts degrees also. Economics, Business administration and so on are social science degrees. Economics and Business are not natural sciences.

You all are pathetic.

As long as we continue to build new structures, there will be an equal demand (and less supply) of HVAC installors or technicians. Especially in the South (which has more new construction than other areas).
