What I do not get at all is how someone can be conservative, yet think the government should step in and tell them what they can do with their own property that they have owned for years without complaint.
Bc property values are more important than your rights. Everyone is invested in that neighborhood and if they feel people with crummy boats that are not being maintained properly are littering the neighborhood than sadly those with nice boats get punished as well. Its like someone mentioned with the mustang. If you have a neighborhood and people are parking brand new ferraris on the street the neighborhood looks great to potential buyers, but then you get guys who want to leave as mentioned their unrestored mustang sitting there and rotting for a decade, what does that say to neighbors around you? It says that you have a slob, same goes for people who dont cut their grass, etc. When you live in a community, you abide by the rules of a community. If you dont like it, go buy land in bumblefrick and run a muck, I promise you can do whatever you want.

LOL you lost me here. Primacy of use outweighs collective property values unless you signed a contract that says otherwise.

dabigfella, I know reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I can tell by your syntax in writing. Anyway, IT IS NOT A NEIGHBORHOOD BAN BUT A CITY WIDE ONE!!
There is no evidence to suggest that parked moveables bring down property value. None at all. If it were the case then a ban on old cars would have happened first as they are much more common.

Except in this case they are changing the rules after the fact. That's bullshite.
How would you like it if all of a sudden the neighborhood said "no fat diabetics allowed starting next Monday because they bring down property values" after you had lived there for awhile? I bet you wouldn't like having to move would you?

Property values have dick to do with a boat being parked in the driveway. Although that is the gov's bullshite argument. Bossier City had a similar ordinance pass a few years back - glad I got the frick out.
