Looking to catch a few bream from the bank with young ones... Any suggestions?

the ponds at covington CC golf course were full of big bream when we were kids. nobody ever hassled us but that was a long time ago
you can walk in to most of the borrow pit ponds at the I-12 exits but they are all on private property. otherwise you'll be looking for a pond on someones property you know, or access to the tchefuncte bank

Go to Bogue Falaya Park,it is the best option if bringing children. Fish the creek flowing in to the Bouge Falaya River on the back side of the property. After the little ones had their fill they can hit the playground.

Appreciate your input, that's nearby. When you say the backside of the property you mean behind the wooden playground?

Yes, when you are driving in if you look to the right there is creek. It runs all the way around the property. The water is clear so you can basically sight fish. Although, the rain fall probably has it a little swollen and dirty.

Live bait?

Worms=live bait
tear off a piece of worm(live bait) the size of your hook
run hook through middle of torn piece of worm hiding hook
catch a fish
repeat

Any pond in any neighborhood in mandeville. Just bring live worms and a little bobber and they'll catch fish until their arms fall off

Yes meeple that is the park, remember not to fish the river but the creek that runs along the backside of the property. Start behind the old pavilion.
This seems interesting!

Yep. I used it all as a kid. Hot dog, cheese cubes, bacon, bread, they'll honestly hit anything.
