Fleece is fleece bro. Patagonia is nice but overpriced. Marmot makes decent sleeping bags and the precip is a classic but nothing revolutionary. North face is a little lower quality since the VF acquisition but for casual wear it's all the same.

I have a Marmot base layer, bag, puffy, and can say they make quality gear. I don't think anyone is saying that about North Face these days

Not really. Polartec Fleece which is in a lot of jackets is different from a generic REI fleece which is different from Patagonia's recycled fleece. That' sort of like saying Wal-mart's Cotton flannel is the same as Eddie Buaer's flannel becuase Cotton is Cotton.
