So with that as precedent, why are we now so worried about pinching pennies?
I'm getting the sense that one of 2 things are happening with the higher powers at LSU:
1) the "midlife crisis": much like an older guy who dumps his aging wife, only to learn the young hotties don't really want him after all, we might regret dumping Miles without having someone lined up
2) there might be a sense that competing costs too much, and we're intentionally downgrading. Spend less, be middle of the pack in conference, still ride the TV gravy train.
Neither sounds very good for the fans.
