However, since she was missing for 3 weeks... this indicated that law enforcement had very few leads to follow. Thus, it would be a lot simpler to just kill and dump her in a remote area than dropping her off alive and risk her providing details that may lead to the discovery and prosecution of the cartel.

And why did she indicate that her captors were both female? It is almost like she wanted this to be a victim of kidnapping/torture, but unwilling to take on the role of a victim of sexual assault or slavery.

So, IMO, this is a made-up story to cover for something else or that law enforcement are leaving out a lot of detail.

Also, if her story is accurate... It would indicate that there may be perpetrators in the area and lone joggers may be at risk. Law enforcement routinely issues these warnings to the public, have they?
