The difference is that by investing in infrastructure, the costs to transport goods becomes lessened, and transportation times become lessened as well resulting in cheaper goods, more goods, more spending, and greater tax receipts. Indirectly, most infrastructure programs pay for themselves. In fact, the gains in efficiency created by the massive expense that was the first interstate system paid for itself in less than 5 years.

Fiscal conservatism isn't just about spending less. It's about spending in ways which result in more government income in the future. There are tons of things which need to be cut long before ceasing to spend money on critical infrastructure.

Nod nod wink wink....I'll play along my friend....I don't care what the money is spent on....just borrow it and spend it....if y'all need to feel like it is fiscally conservative to do so go ahead...if it makes you happy it can't be that bad!!!! We are finally all on the same page....Keynes is right....austerity be damned...cut taxes, borrow money and spend like a drunken sailor, and tell the rest of the world they can kiss our rusty red buttocks....they are on their own....we aren't making this country great again we are making it truly great for the first time!!!!! Our greatness in the past was based on good works....it will be based in reality this time around...and in reality strength is all that matters and there has never been a stronger nation....
