Race played a huge role in getting rid of Strong this year. If he was white he would still be the coach at texass. No doubt about that.
Race also played a huge role in getting him hired at Texas. No doubt about that.

He didn't have enough "Skins on the Wall" as a Head Coach to even remotely have been considered for the job at Texas, arguably the #1 college coaching job in the country.

He got preferential treatment, just like Sumlin. (Who didn't have the "Skins" either for the A&M job) Just because you can recruit, has no bearing on whether or not you can manage a program like Texas. Both are in way over their heads and it's playing out on the field........................

This is garbage. What qualifications for experience does Herman have that Strong didn't. They both were successful coaches, but Strong was at a power 5 school and had a better final year (11-1).

I don't think race had anything with his hiring or firing. Th program wasn't on an upward trend, especially with losing to Kansas. That game almost by itself sealed his fate. He would still be the coach with 2-3 more wins over teams they should have easily beat.
