I see he plans to replace him quickly but I wonder; doesn't the head coach get to go on more recruiting visits if his staff isn't full? It would be pretty sly of O to have this lined up but not to fill it so he can spend more time out recruiting; wouldn't that be something?

0 pts against bama.
10 pts against fla.

Both at home.

Only two teams with a pulse.

I know Peveto has often been criticized here, and I agree that it should not be difficult for Coach O to find another special teams coach.

However, he has done some solid recruiting at LSU, and he may be missed more than any of us would admit in this area.

The most significant thing CEO can do, at least for now, is be a leader for both the team and the staff. They are all there to succeed, if doing one person a favor or showing favoritism harms the others, no one wins. A leader can prevent that. A coach is sometimes oblivious to it and it's effects.

Most rational, lucid thought expressed here in a very long time. Well done.

How does the OP get downvotes?

I got a several month ban for being too critical of Bradley Dale about this time last year, so he clearly has some secret admirers.

He's been glaringly bad at any attempt to coach at least since he and his sidekick sent our defense so far south that Lou Tepper would have been an upgrade. If he is/was an elite recruiter they should have found some spot that keeps him in high school kid's homes and away from the current players and the sidelines on Gameday.

Well the CEO era is off to a good start

CEO is an excellent abbreviation.

A head coach is the CEO of the program and his staff is really his management team.

The biggest regret of new corporate CEOs is not acting quickly enough to get their own management teams in place whether from inside or outside hiring.

He would do well to act like one and dismiss any others about whom he has doubts. He has worked with them for about two years. He knows who can produce and who cannot.

I will not miss him except for watching his uncanny ability to trail Les constantly up and down the sidelines for an entire game while never once removing his nose from Les' asscrack.
