It's not worth saving a recruiting class, even top coaches, to have to put up with another incompetent coach.

As for being screwed, why? If LSU wants Coach O, you can have him anytime you want. It doesn't work out with Jimbo or Herman, no problem, just go get O from whatever d-line job he has and make him head coach.

If LSU fricks over Jimbo again, he will never consider coming here later. Not to mention the fact that top coaches are not going to consider LSU if they see them making hires like this and going cheap.

This really is a program defining decision. If LSU hires O, it's all over as far as this program being a national powerhouse. It's back to the Dinardo days at best.
