Thanks. I would want a 2 bedroom. My son will be 23 then and I would just prefer we have our on rooms. I am not cheap at all but going to the area of Dublin that is really expensive doesn't intrigue me. If I am going to spend $8-$10 on a beer there better be naked women in front of me.
I would rather go places where the locals hang out. We will do tours and stuff during the day. At night I want to go places where I can barely understand what the Irish bastard is saying.

Are you referring to Temple bar? I generally agree and I wasn't planning on staying there either, but literally everything "big" to do in Dublin is within a mile of there basically. Maybe a tad more like the Guinness stuff but still close. I wasn't going to save any money by staying outside of the downtown area, especially when you consider transportation and time costs.
You can always find a pub to have a cheaper drink by walking a block or two off the big areas.
