LSU to the Sugar Bowl?

This is supposed to be a possibility according to DandyDon.com I would have never guessed it, but would love to see it happen. Not having that renta-win that Florida is costing us will skew our overall record at 8-3 if we win out so I thought we wouldn't even have a chance at a big bowl but Scott made some good points that we may be the second best SEC team by the end of the season and the second best SEC team would play a big 12 team in Sugar Bowl. That would be a great resume builder for CEO. Bama beating Auburn is crucial. I will swallow back vomit and say "Roll Tide" during that game.

But Coach O would set our program back a billion years.

Why do fans always have to ruin a good post with a coach O comment?

Coach O coaching Sugar Bowl might depend on if he gets the job and when the new hire becomes available.

Because he's relevant right now. If he wins out and wins the Sugar bowl, that is very, very relevant to the coaching search at LSU.

you needed scott long to tell you this?

You couldn't compute this yourself? What bowl did you think the second highest SEC team would get?

No one is doubting his ability to manage a group of already established elite talent. Winning out is what I expect from this group with or without coach O.

With the prediction of aTm getting the Sugar in the last few weeks, it was obvious that it was attainable for LSU. Win the next two games and it will happen.
About as good an outcome as could have been expected, given the way this season's gone.

I hadn't given it any thought until I read this morning. Have you ever seen an 8 win team in the sugar bowl?

I can't bring myself to do that. Don't think the tide needs my support to molly whop Aub anyway.

Ole Miss was there at 9-3, which would've been our record if S. Alabama wasn't cancelled

per The Advocate.
"The Sugar Bowl must invite the second-highest ranked SEC team if the league’s champion advances to the College Football Playoff. Barring a massive upset, No. 1 Alabama is headed to the playoff, leaving Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M and Florida jockeying for that second spot. Auburn, with three losses like LSU, meets Alabama on Nov. 26, and the Tigers visit three-loss A&M on Thanksgiving night.
The decision does not rest with the Sugar Bowl but is strictly based on the final CFP rankings, released Dec. 4. An SEC team will play the Big 12 champion — or the highest-ranked Big 12 squad if the champion is in the playoff."

Win the next two games and LSU is back in the top ten.
Then let the coach ride off into the bayou and roll the dice.

We weren't expected to beat Bama (8 point underdog) so if we win out like we should, we will have accomplished the best that we could have possibly done after losing a coach and OC at the beginning of the season. Had we beaten Bama, we still would most likely be on the edge with two losses and Bama with one to get into the playoffs and ended up with a lesser bowl of Bama didn't make the playoffs and went to the Sugar. I'm not quite as nauseated as I was losing to the gumps now.

no but there is a ton to consider
1. the east is horseshite
2. win out and have the 2nd best record in the SEC
3. not many teams play one less game. Its assumed that we'd be 9-3. Just last year Ole Miss was 9-3 heading into the Sugar

When do the tickets come on sale?

No idea but there is a strong possibility that if one wants to see the Tigers play in New Orleans that it will happen.

Majority of the bowl projections that have come out today have LSU and Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.
