You can't win without a free meme factory

I agree with most libertarian points. But, I think there isn't a chance in hell they will ever win an election so I went for the lesser of two evils this election. #MAGA

Because nature abhors a vacuum.

No, but he does have some conservative values, and I don't trick myself into believing he is. He is just that which stands in between HRC and the WH, and I think he will do a hellofalot better job as President than that crooked woman will by a long stretch.

It's time the Libertarian Party to get serious, get organized and start having a real impact on American politics. The Libertarian ideals are powerful but their candidates are jokes.
This is true, but I think the same can be said for the 2 major parties. That this nation of the 350MM came up with Donald Trump (a reality personality) and Hillary Clinton (a career politician with all the attendant sleaze and corruption) as the leading candidates for president is a fricking embarrassment.

cool
but libertarians voting for GJ can't possibly feel the same way?
they have to be a "joke"

I voted Johnson simply as a statement to try to get a 3rd party more traction in future elections.
If Trump didn't have Louisiana sewn up I'd have voted him.

I never called them a joke. I called Johnson a joke, and the whole idea of him running as a libertarian a joke.
Trump isn't running under the Conservative party. He's by all admission a populist with some conservative values, or that's how most see him.

This election was a huge missed opportunity for the Libertarian party.
With 2 really unpopular candidates the Libertarian nominee should have been able to gain traction.
Problem is Gary Johnson SUCKS.

They could have easily walked away with this election if they we the least bit organized and had a viable candidate.

And yet when you compare the rest of the candidates, still lesser of a joke.

Very doubtful given the "blue wall" and the amount of time and money spent just to get on ballots, the best they could hope was to get to 5%. The only way they would have remotely had a shot was to get someone like Rand at the top of the ticket with the Koch's throwing a shitload of money into the campaign. And Rand doesn't seem to be that interested in leaving the R party.

yeah he's the most moderate of the options and was seen as the least likely to cause issues
he just wilted under the pressure and tried to be TOO moderate. it was a train wreck

Debatable, but when faced with a choice of "jokes", I'd prefer to do what is best to make sure this doesn't happen again.

After this, I hope the party completely denounces Bill Weld. We need someone like Austin Petersen to get the nomination if we want to be taken seriously. Johnson is a shitty libertarian and Petersen would have been 100X better.

Libertarianism is moribund. You can not simultaneously welcome poor, uneducated, low IQ immigrants while also scaling back government. They want it and always will. Within the platform lie the seeds of its own inoperability.
