His whole fricking interview was great.

I don't know how anyone can not want the guy as the head coach. His personality and approach is great and the team has played pretty damn good under his coaching

This guy has guts we haven't seen in a while. While he's been on staff, he could only do so much in his previous role.

"Look at his coaching record from 10 years ago at Ole Miss.

Is any other program going to interview him after the season? "

Well, calm, analytic people can look at the only data we have on O as a permanent HC is Ole Miss, where he went 3-21 in the SEC.

You want to completely wave that off and just say, oh, it was 10 years ago and he's learned? You can certainly do that, but it's a mighty big risk.

And no other school came after O as HC after he did very well as interim at USC. But then, they might not care about his accent as much as this board does.

(and by the way, I love what O has done as interim and how the team has responded. I'm just not sold on him as our permanent HC).

Agreed, but his prior results aren't great. I'm not anti-O in any way but I understand those that are.

You can't let emotional responses like how he interviewed on a radio show influence the choice.
The team was bound to get some bounce from a coaching change. Short term results (3 games) is certainly no measure or predictor of worthiness.
He may be the best guy available but you have to let it play out. We have no idea who has inquired about the job. We don't know who is really on Alleva's short list.
Hire the best guy available.
