Is any other program going to interview him after the season? "

He's come along way and matured since then. You don't have to be a detective to figure that out.

It's simply a matter of we can't make a proper evaluation of how good he is when the teams he's coaching have so much more talent than their opponents.

Ole Miss is a championship caliber team on paper. I'd say the talent isn't that far off. Basically you're saying his coaching can only be eveluated on how he does against Alabama. If that's how you look at it then fine. I didn't say he deserves the job now. Just that as of right now I don't see a reason why he doesn't deserve the job. If they lay an egg this weekend and fall off the rest of the season like LSU teams have done then I'm perfectly fine with keeping the search going.

The team was bound to get some bounce from a coaching change.

Really, I didn't know that. The Herman guys are saying Houston sucks now because of a rumor. LSU fired their head coach and were expected to be better?

by that logic we have no idea if Aranda is a good DC or not. should we replace him too?

Larry Coker looked really damn good with the 2001 Miami Hurricanes. Why aren't we trying to hire him?
this didnt work on Miles in 2005 so we're gonna try it again on Orgeron, is that it?

Horrific comparison. You already saw what he looked like as Wisconsin's DC.

If he goes 5-1 or 6-2 which is reasonable he will be 12/4 or 13-5 range at two major programs with tough schedules. He will get a shot somewhere if not Lsu. Personally I think if it's not O or jimbo Lsu is Makin a mistake. Both would be familiar with Lsu , keep the staff in place and recruiting class would hold strong which is crucial with all the departures at end of season. Faaak 12 years ago at ole miss or however long. Coaches mature and develop just like players. O can recruit top players, has a damn strong staff, and will hire a good OC and we will have plenty of money to pay that person. I'm all in for O or jimbo. Anyone else would be dissapointing. Except maybe Herman.

Yeah this is a fail. Aranda's defense was top 20 in FBS at Utah State. That is remarkable by any standard.

yes he is, ! coaching and recruiting is one and the same thing in college ball , it is all about the billies , joes and who owns the referees ,here in Louisiana it seems that you have to own the idiots too !

And the one time he was in charge of picking and choosing his players, the results were horrendous.

That wasn't bc he didn't have players. If he did anything right at OM, it was get players.

I am just not understanding why people are so anti- Coach O. To each their own but bottom line is that column to the far right W vs L. He seems to get the team ready each week. And so far all W's. Yes he is one of us. He bleeds purple & gold. That in itself speaks volumes. Not saying somebody somewhere out there wouldn't be just as committed but in todays college football world nothing is guaranteed. A win is a win IMO.

The Coaching Changes board is SUPER anti-Orgeron

I have no problem with him getting the job if he only loses one from here on out.
