You're right. We should focus just on his coaching tenure 10 years ago and ignore the fact that he has gone 9-2 since then at two separate power-5 schools with teams that were under-performing and had just fired their coaches.

By no means am I on the hire Orgeron train. However, I think the second part of your statement is a valid point. If we are going to talk about his record at Ole Miss we also need to discuss that he adapted/changed and has shown that he can take over top programs and lead them to victory. I think we need to look at both records.
To me the biggest indication of future events is what has happened in the past. When you look at both of those records it's clear to see that he has adjusted whatever he has needed to and is trending upward. The recruiting has always been there. It's looking more more like the management skills, needed of a head coach, are there now.
