Whatever I rather take my chances with a 12 gauge at night trying to hit a barely visible target.

I mean they don't call them home defense shotguns for no reason dick licker.

Assuming you are shooting across a normal sized room (say 15-20 ft) the spread might be a couple of inches at that distance, so you're not gaining much there. Any gained accuracy is due to the ability to shoulder a shotgun, but there are downsides to a shotgun as well, particularly in hallways and tight quarters.

A shotgun does have much better stopping power, but that doesn't have anything to do with "9/10 people not being able to hit anything in the dark."
