Walker?

It might happen. Les and Walker do have a connection: They both coached at Oklahoma State in 1995.

No shite. And alot of people here who think blitzing every down is the end-all answer to successful defense forget what happens when you do, you can also give up the big play too.

But, you do have to rattle the Qb. When you can do that, it changes everything.

I honestly have not watched many UCLA games lately so I don't know. But his resume is imrpessive.

Don't follow UCLA closely, but I work with some Bruin yahoos and listen to the sportstalk shows out here. UCLA's defense has been the only thing worth a damn about the program recently.

only problem is that neuheisel is trying to get him to stay at ucla. I saw a few games this year and their d was not bad. Like the earlier poster said he stops the run first and foremost but does believe in sending guys to put pressure on the qb.

You don't think UCLA could match what we'd pay him? And I'd think quality of life is better in southern California than southern Louisiana. He may come here, but it just seems like a long way to move your family unless we were offering a ton more money.

I just looked it up Walker makes $360k at UCLA which is more than I would have guessed.

I then plugged that into a cost of living calculator. It is 41.1% cheaper to live in BR than LA. His $360K is equal to $212K here.

If we paid Walker $500K (which is reasonable), that is equal to $848K (which is what Dorrel made).

The money is significant, but the career opportunity is larger IMO.

Not a slam dunk, but I think he would seriously consider it.

I'm assuming he'll get a raise if he stays. And he can get noticed at UCLA just as easy as LSU by the people that matter. I hope he comes. I love his resume. We'll see.
