In a system like Payton's, you don't need 1st round running backs.. you need serviceable guys that can pass protect and run hard, with an occasional catch out of the backfield. The Saints are not the Vikings, Seattle, or Carolina.
I would LOVE to see LF7 in B&G, but it's just unrealistic and makes no sense. There's much more RB value in later picks/UDFA/free agency for the Saints. I'd much rather see Payton/Loomis invest in OL depth, DL depth, and DB depth.

Without the play of a former 1st round back, the Saints don't get past Philly to make it to the NFCCG in '06.

I guess drafting that guy in the first round was a mistake too.
