Just exactly how does it not correlate to being a permanent head coach? Do they get to just go on vacation?

I got to believe you're playing dumb, but I'll bite. How about hiring assistants, for one? How sure are you that Dave Aranda would've come to coach under Ogeron? You think Aranda doesn't see himself as 100 times smarter than BeBe? Miles at least had a reputation as a successful head coach and a good boss, and he built this staff that is winning right now on the strength of that reputation. You have no idea what sort of staff O could put together. He only knows a limited number of coaches, how many of them would want to work for him? How respected is he as a head coach by his peers? How will he handle adversity? Sure didn't handle it well at Ole Miss - do some research - he didn't just fail but was universally hated by his staff by the time he was fired. You think that reputation doesn't precede him? He has basically said it himself, all he is doing right now is letting Miles' assistants do their job and playing cheerleader. That's not how Saban works. That's not how Meyer works. That's not how Harbaugh works. That's not a recipe for success over the long term.

My God, are you trying to hold this against Coach O. Yeah, don't hire him because Aranda was already on staff. How about Cam Cameron and Pete Jenkins.

Neither do you. Nor do you know what kind of staff any other coach would put together at LSU.

He has been in the business a long time at different schools. I bet he knows quite a few coaches. How would I or you know who would work for him besides Pete Jenkins. That is a pretty stupid question to ask when nobody knows the answer. His one hire has been pretty good though - definitely set a precedent.

that is total bullshite. You apparently were under a rock last week when Hugh Freeze said Coach O was the best thing to happen to his coaching career and he appreciated it. He had nothing but good things to say about him. Post your facts to back up your statements of frick off. If coaches hated him Pete Jenkins would not be at LSU right now.

In the past it has always been said that all a coach has to do is hire good assistants and let them coach. Now that O is mentioned as a candidate, you want a coach who wants to run everything and tie his assistants hands behind their backs?

Just another reason in the huge and growing stack of why Herman should not be considered for the LSU position.

If Orgeron is retained as HC there is a 95% chance Lane Kiffin is our OC next year

O as HC with Aranda and Kiffin. I like our chances with that combination
