How many teams would make a run a vucevic, and why would the magic be inclined to take our package?

Are expirings valuable again?

Surely they could do better yes?

I don't know. Athletic, defensive centers are what's currently en vogue in the NBA. Offensive centers than can't protect the rim not as much. You also have Noel and Okafor on the market and many expect Brook Lopez to hit the trade block before the season is over. That's 3 available centers that would be ahead of Vucevic on many team's wish lists, and Monroe is available for cheap, so while he may not be more desirable than Vucevic, he also won't cost a pick.

Also who needs a traditional starting center? Charlotte is the only one I can come up with and they have Hibbert and one of the Zellers. The Pelicans might have the worst center depth chart in the league by a significant margin.

I think their value will increase this year because most teams had already blown their 2016 budgets expecting the 2017 cap to increase to $110 and then they were told it's actually going down to $102 (now $103).

I'd have said the same thing about Tobias Harris right before we found out what he got traded for. I don't expect to get Vucevic for expirings, but it sounds like you think they can get more than what amounts to a lottery protected 2018 1st and I don't think they can. Maybe injuries or other moves will change that, but right now Supply >>>> Demand.
