Most people tend to get slower as the race goes on, maybe a difference of 30 seconds per mile is normal between fastest mile and slowest mile . So, try to keep to this or better.

I've been focusing more on pacing. Been running for about a year and a half now. I have no real desire to break the 10 mile/min mark - I'm built for comfort, not for speed.

I agree with what everyone has said about taking the beginning slow and not letting the adrenaline of the race kick in; that's always the biggest hurdle for me.
