PA is probably a top 10 state for talent, though definitely not top 7.
You're wrong. In terms of football talent it goes
1.California/Texas/Florida
2.Ohio/Georgia
3.Pennsylvania/Louisiana
4.North and South Carolina/New Jersey
5.Alabama/Virginia/Michigan
Its been this way for decades

You don't know northern recruiting. With Penn State down Ohio State and Michigan have been pulling in the elite New Jersey recruits. Penn State used to get those kids along with the DelMarVa and Pennsylvania recruits.

From 2000 to 2011 they had more losing seasons than 10 win seasons. No longer elite.

So they had a rebuild and came out better
So you take the early part of the 2000's yet completely dismiss the last part which they played in 2 BCS games, 2 NYD games before everyone did and an Alamo Bowl game
Cherry pick much?
Penn St is much more of CFB name than LSU in this country.
I'm not a Nittany Lion fan at all but to say they're not elite is like saying SC didn't win back to back NC

If you're judging "eliteness" you have to take more than just a couple years but even if you want to start at '05 they had fallen off since then.

You're the one pointing out just 3 seasons

Miami and Texas are more of a name in CFB than both but they ain't elite anymore either.

Is their brand elite and is their program elite are two different things.

The energy was gone from the program. Franklin is not the answer.

Umm yes they are, historically and just by population base. It's not even close.

the LSU brand/prestige is higher than Penn State's

Penn State cult: "JoePa would still be coaching."

This is really bad. You have Bama way too low. They lead the country in per capita players in the NFL so how do you have them below Louisiana New Jersey, the Carolinas, etc.

Of course it is but right now doesn't determine elite or we'd have to put Boise in the conversation

that's just not true. LSU's brand is stronger and they are a better program and better job.
you go around the country and ask people what program is a bigger name, LSU or Penn State, and LSU wins outside of some old timers

The LSU brand is not stronger than the Penn St brand historically and more people know Penn St than LSU
Right this second yes it is but that doesn't make LSU more elite than Penn St
I'd argue the LSU job is not as good when both are in good places.

Just keep in mind you're on an LSU site. They'll never agree with you

I'm a LSU fan even but not myopic.
The nuerotic nature of some LSU fans this year is at an all time high.

Penn State has a better historical record but they are not light years ahead of LSU as a historical program

I get that. Even so, with the emergence of the SEC, PAC-10, and even Big XII, they were not a sustained "Top 10 job" in the 2000s. Teams like Utah, Louisville, WVU, TCU, Cinci, Boise State, Wazzoo, etc had Top 10 finishes in those years (2000s).

Jesus Christ. Per capita in the NFL has nothing to do with how many D1 recruits the state produces. That's a retarded statement.
