The team has looked for a QB ever since Rich Gannon and you expect them to just give him away?

My biggest problem with him is that he has no deep game. He can't drive the ball deep at all, and he never has at any level. He is pretty damn sharp in the short-intermediate game. But to me that just means you always have to have players that are very well suited for that area of the field (which fortunately NE is). It's hard to stretch the defense and give your offense some room when your QB cannot get the ball to the receivers deep.

First, anyone who thinks that New England with part with him is stupid. Second, the deep pass is not a vital part of any offense and it is a very low percentage play to begin with so anyone who thinks that a QB has to have a big arm to win is stupid. Sure it looks great when a deep ball is thrown and caught ,but it is much better to have a QB that can make all the throws 10-20 yards down the feild consistently which he can do but we or any other team will not get him.

Going after a player in trade requires the other team to be interested in the deal also. The Pats have Garoppolo another year for under a million dollars and an older QB than ours. They spent a 2nd Rd draft pick on him and he has looked capable in audition. The trade would cost a 1st Rd pick + and you have to pay him the going rate in a new contract. Very similar to the Osweiler situation in that it will require a large investment with not a lengthy track record and that G is not a free agent until after one more season. Don't see it. Pats will decide he is the heir and give him money or trade him for a bounty. Remember how they turned 7th Rder Matt Cassel into 2nd Rd pick in trade.

Just curious, what is/are the knocks against Grayson? I really haven't heard anything one way or another.

2018 Draft should have some decent QB's. Let's wait until then to make a move. I wish McCown was 8 years younger. He's very serviceable.

Watson would be a bust in the NFL. He is a system QB at Clemson with no obvious skills other than some mobility and spot passing.
Pass!
Kelly with all his baggage is a baller and has exhibited the natural instincts of a successful leader in the big games I've seen him play

Tedy Bridgewater.

Last time we picked up injured QB whose career was in doubt, it worked out very well.

It would be even better if Saban coached the team that decided not to sign Tedy, then went back to the SEC as Auburn's coach. The wailing and gnashing of teeth in Tuscaloosa would be awesome.
