Will coach O use the southern Miss game to work on passing game??

I sure hope we go like 60/40 on pass to run. I hope LSU uses this to work on short to medium passes with a few attempts at the long ball. Les used to never us these types of games to work on making the QB's better in the passing game it seemed ,so im hoping Coach O continues flipping the script. The big games are coming up and we all know there will be 8/9 guys in the box ready to stop the run.

Just win.. Setting dumb expectations like that aren't good for anyone

We tried this vs Miss State and it almost cost us the game fwiw

I hope we work on the intermediate to long passing game. Those seem to be the ones Etling can't quite hit. They have had 2 weeks to work on timing, though. I'm sure Ensminger notices the lacking deep ball and worked with Etling.

I think that will depend on how Southern Miss attempts to defend us.
I envision similar to what we did in the Mizzou game; we'll open up the running game with the pass and remove extra defenders from the box, then our running backs will enjoy a feast of yardage.

huh?
The best player in the country fumbling twice in the second half almost cost LSU the football game.

Of course...I think that the Mizzo game already sent the message that a new sheriff is in town..."if you load the box, we're going to pass it on you"...and we can!

It really sucks that Les set the passing game back so bad. It's going to take a while to get it like a normal big college program, you know when your not nervous every time the qb drops back to throw. It's hard to believe we have endured so many seasons like that.

I know one thing, Bebe will put up 60 if the team can do it. It's gonna be pedal to the metal for every game. His intensity and style of coaching have me pumped again!

I just hope Etling has been practicing his sliding.

I expect to see significant progress in the passing game Saturday. Ensminger has had in mind how to fix it even well before Miles was fired.

As Miles would say
SECURE VICTORY
With the way UTSA ran the ball I think we see a steady dose of all RB's including Lanard.

We threw it 30 times vs Mizzu, I'd be fine with anything 25+.

Stupid statement. Who was coaching LSU at the time?

5 wide, all running a fly route, all game long. Gotta get that deepball working

Call in tonight and ask him.

Doesn't really make a difference in this scenario. Practicing on passing when you aren't good at it can end badly, is all I'm saying.
