Seeing Gumbo or Jambalaya or Etouffee or pretty much any Louisiana cuisine served with tomatoes might be my largest pet peeve i have

The idea that gumbo can only be enjoyed in. lol or cold weather is absolutely ludicrous !!!!!!

I'll let you live in the shotgun house in New Orleans I lived in with no AC in the kitchen and then come ask you how you feel about making gumbo in warm weather.

It's more of a preference. Just like I don't like eating king cake when it's not mardi gras, I don't like eating crawfish when it's not crawfish season, etc. Making these things seasonal and enjoying them during a specific season is part of what makes them special to me. Weird, I know. Eating gumbo when it's cold just feels right to me.
