Chicago Blackhawks: 10-1
St. Louis Blues: 12-1
But, how?
Blues were the better team during the regular season and playoffs, plus they will be slightly better this year. Meanwhile Chicago will do the same as last year.

Very interesting season for Blues
I expect them to have some growing pains early, this isnt the grinding team of last year, got rid of size and went with more speed.
They struggle, and it lasts till allstar break, when does the struggles become issues, with hitch and coach to be yeo?
As Always, the West is a fricking slobber knocker. Central is best division, with a possible 6 teams being in playoffs next year.

Not the biggest hockey fan in the world but it's not hard to get sucked into hawks nation living up here in Chicago.... I actually enjoy watching a sport that doesn't drive my heart rate up. It's nice having no dog in this fight

Go to a Blues-Hawks game in Chitown.
There are usually more fights in the stands, than on the ice.
While Cubs and Cardinal fans have no love loss, Hawks and Blues fans take it to a next level. The atmosphere for these games is electric, ya get chills as soon as the guy for hawks starts belting out the national anthem and place goes crazy

The Caps broke the Washington Post. DC sportsblog's Caps preview is nothing but copy and pasted quotes of previous season preview articles about the Caps from other seasons.

The window closes this year as a ton of contracts expire. This is it, guys. Ether do, or do not. There is no try.

“Ultimately our team is going to be judged by how we do in the playoffs,” another veteran said. “We could win 60, 65 games and people wouldn’t care. For us to take the next step as an organization there has to be playoff success.”
Fans and reporters in this city that is quietly growing into a hockey hotbed are still talking about the latest in an annual series of springtime disappointments. This is the challenge going into the NHL season for the organization and its fans. Can you separate the two — regular season and playoffs — and enjoy the success of one enough to overcome the frustration of another?
“I don’t think we should ever, ever, ever, take making the playoffs for granted,” Leonsis said. “That’s one thing I’m trying to protect the franchise from. It’s not a given.”
“We have a tendency here of talking about the Stanley Cup in September,” the coach said. “We expect to be good and want to be good, but overconfident is the last thing we have a right to be.”
“The only thing we can focus on now is the [82] games, one at a time,” one veteran said. “We can’t think about the playoffs now.”

Have you resigned yourself to a season of misery and heartburn yet Baloo?
I am attempting to go CP31 rant free all year.

I don't know what to feel. The Caps were the best team in hockey last year and the roster didn't really have any holes on it. They didn't even make the Eastern Conference Finals. This year's team, if anything, is even better.
They've got an elite goalie, one of the best players in hockey, ridiculous forward depth, a deep blue line, all-star caliber players throughout the roster, and a great combo of grit and speed. And all I can do is wonder how this team will break my heart this year.
And there's also the knowledge that so many players will be free agents at season's end. The window isn't necessarily closing, but this will be the last Caps team of this iteration. I'm just resigned to it. But what is there to actually criticize about how this team is constructed (also, the Metro, outside of the Caps and Pens, looks like it is going to suck).
