First time traveling to Vegas. Just me and the wife. Have alittle money to spend, ut need hotel recommendations.

IMO, you can't go wrong with Wynn or Aria.

We liked The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.

800 degrees has a mean pizza.

Mirage or Caesars are always good. Right in the middle of the Strip.

Your wife (pics?) will enjoy the Cosmopolitan.
Caesar's and the Bellagio are great and have great shopping.
If you stay somewhere off the strip stay at the Wynn.
The Venitian is also a solid option. Flamingo is cool if you want to save a few bucks.

I know the Wynn and Encore are technically on the Strip but are farther down and away from the main strip were the hotels are stacked on top of one another.

We stayed at New York, New York. Good room prices, an ESPN sports bar, and the roller coaster was unique.

Just got back form Vegas and stayed at The Cosmopolitan. Super nice and the wife LOVED it
Other recs would be The Venetian/Palazzo, Belagio, Wynn
More economical but still nice, MGM Grand

Sounds like you can stay at any hotel and be fine.
Pretty much. Each hotel has its own style and attractions, but it's Vegas. You are not staying in the room, and cabs are everywhere.
