Do you live on campus or off?

I considered transferring to UVA. I changed majors and UVA has a top business program for undergrads. I ended up staying and everything worked out great. I'm sure things would have been awesome if I went to UVA as well. Those are the interesting moments in life that literally creates a parallel life path that is fun to think about.

There was a reason I joined a fraternity when I went to college out of state. I had no real desire to go home after going to college.

I thought you were going to be running the recruiting department for Hughbert?

but it sucks not knowing a ton of people.
I went to school in state for undergrad and out of state for grad school.
I knew three people from high school that went to LSU with me, none of them close friends. I made friends by getting out and doing stuff. Went to BIOS, got an on campus job, joined a few clubs. Four of the people I met in undergrad were in my wedding this year.

Grew up in Maryland and went to LSU. The answer is "yes" I considered transferring. I played golf at LSU albeit not successful enough to make many trips. Luckily I still made some friends due to being on a team etc.
For anyone going OOS I would strongly encourage joining a frat/sorority or some sort of Club team for sports. That way you would have people who would introduce you to others and make it easier. It is tough going to a place when you don't know anyone. Joining something will force the issue.
Of course, if you are a real jerk then that wouldn't work either.

I can only guess that getting out and doing things at nearly any time of day or night will be more productive in your glomming on to someone than being on this message board.
Additionally, while the time you are out ruining someone else's life you will not be here ruining ours.
Thanks.
ETA...Why talk to your 'brother', Old Hickory, surely he has met some winners.

I moved in to Kirby Smith without knowing a soul. I'm not an outgoing person, but I knew I had to meet people quickly or I'd be miserable. Didn't really want to go the greek route, so I went to every social gathering put on by various organizations. Met some people here and there. Some sucked. Some were cool. That's how it goes. I now have lifelong friends and BR is a second home to me.
You just have to put yourself out there. It's not comfortable for some people, and it wasn't comfortable for me, but I did it.

Rush.
Knew like 5-6 people at Southeastern. All my friends went to nicholls or LSU.
Now I know a ton of people

Were there any points when you wanted to transfer back or to another school OOS? I'm not to that point or anything but it sucks not knowing a ton of people.
No but I didn't have trouble making friends. I got a 4 BR apartment with 3 strangers set up by the complex and made a lot of friends that way.

From Mississippi and came to LSU knowing no one. About to graduate now and looking back I made the right choice. Would have had fun with all my high school friends at Mississippi State or Ole Piss, but I wouldn't trade my years in Baton Rouge for anything
