Commish Sankey Had A Great Weekend! Sorry LSU Fans, But Get Ready...

I don't need to listen to the interview to understand that Sankey did what any good politician will do: He is protecting two of his special interests.
This conference is run by Bama, UF, and then Auburn. In that order. Everyone else can suck it. Not to mention Bama and UF are the top two grossing teams revenue wise.
With UT losing yesterday, this gives the SEC Commish the opportunity to have his two highest grossing teams in the SECCG again this season. That is what he wants. That is his job: create revenue. If screwing second tier teams like LSU and Tenn is part of that, so be it.
Sankey, for all intents and purposes had a great weekend. Bama is one step closer to a West title, and now UF literally is in the driver's seat for the East since UT will lose to Bama soon.
UF can get rested up for their run. Now you force one of Bama's rivals (LSU) into playing three straight road games. Kill two birds with one stone there too: Eliminate a rejuvenated LSU team and allow UF time to rest for the game. LSU WILL be worn out by the third road game.
Win win win win
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck....

How dare you assume the orientation of this species.
And yes, sadly, you are right. Which is why I want out of the SEC. It benefits 2 rather than all.

When uT has 2 losses they will demand LSU play Florida. Why would they do that if Bama and UF run the conference?

There is one silver lining: the kids (LSU) will be prepared as appropriately as possible by O with reduced pad time and rest. Les would have amped it up.

How can Sankey force LSU to break contract with South Alabama and lose out on home game revenue? I might be wrong, but I don't think Sankey or the SEC can legally do that. I know he's the big boss and all, but still.

Intents and purposes is correct

What you have written is nothing more than a conspiracy theory.....but, I think you are right! :)))

It actually benefits Florida not to play the game at all
When they win out and Tennessee loses to Bama, they go to Hotlanta

He cannot.
He can only request.
And USA is no pushover. They beat one SEC team this year and would love the chance to pull an upset at LSU.
They'd likely tell Sankey to go frick himself and I wouldn't blame them.
Sankey made his bed with his vacillation and indecision.
Let him lie in it.

Can you show us a picture of a driver's seat with some entity called Florida in it? If not, then Florida is not "literally" in the driver's seat. "Literally" means exactly the opposite of how you used it. The purpose of the word is to distinguish metaphors, like yours, from literal statements.
Now, to the content of your post. The SEC is not run by any of its schools. Bama and Florida have been the two most successful football teams in the last twenty years or so. Fans of other SEC teams who have inferiority complexes (i.e. most of us, and henceforth refered to as "losers") attribute every lucky break they get to be by the design of some overarching force which is opposed to the loser.

It's a good theory. Except if the goal is to get Bama and UF in why play the game?
UT loses to Bama, UF wins out they are in.
If forced to play LSU and lose then UT has the tie breaker with UF

yeh, I didn't make it. But agreed with the content. Helps the simple minded get it.
@recruitdick - yeah, you're right, LSU is definitely getting the better end of the deal by not having the game. Not Bama or UF. Not sure where Trump comes into the picture here since this is a sports forum. So, yeah... solid post contribution to the threat (1/10)

Its not the SEC or UFrightened that wants the game to be played. Its the media that would lose out on big money and they have the podium. If the game doesnt have SEC CG implications then the SEC isnt going to care one way or another. If LSU and UFrightened arent in the SEC CG race those schools arent going to care either. If either LSU OR UFrightened IS in the SEC CG race then rest assured, they WILL find a way to play the game.
If LSU is out and UFrightened is in then that is the best case scenario because it allows LSU to tell UFrightened to get on their collective knees and STTDB.
Of course the media is going to grill either the SEC, UFrightened and/or LSU depending on which of the above scenarios plays out. Since they already hate LSU Im pulling for LSU to get a BJ from UFrightened.
