Seems like we didn't have enough bark or PR at the table with Sankey the snake. Hell, this thing is tapering off east, why not go ahead a play it?

Play or Forfeit. Bottom line.
Posted on 10/6/16 at 9:45 pm to JawjaTigah
The game has to be played before the end of the season. Two SEC teams.

If the SEC Commissioner has balls, give LSU a W since FLA forfeited the game.

At first, I thought your statement was ludicrous. Now, I see it makes perfect sense.
The game should be played. Gainesville is what, ~ 100 miles from the coast. The conditions would be rainy, no thunder and winds about 20 to 30 mph.
Play the damn game, UF.

How is that the ACC did not cancel the Florida state / Miami game but the sec cancelled the LSU / Fla game the storm will be in SC by Saturday night.
Posted on 10/6/16 at 10:13 pm to KMQB15
The forecast was for Miami to not be as effected as Gainesville. Miami airport is opening back up tomorrow.

Miami didn't get hit by the storm.
Also, I do want to point a couple things out.
1) You guys are complaining about 3 straight road games, but this would be ours too. The SEC has insurance for money so that's not an issue.
2) We aren't pushovers like SC. Why the heck would we give up a scheduled home game vs a rival and go play at your place? Especially when we have the East still to play for. That's just dumb. I know you all are good fans and would let us have home team and all that but it's still Tiger Stadium and a travel nightmare even with help.
3) Yes, it probably helped that we have a chance to avoid playing you all. I get that but why wouldn't you take every advantage you can?
4) I do reasonably think that our AD and the SEC thought there was a reasonable chance to play this weekend, hence the delay. I think that Gainesville will be perfectly fine honestly. The main issue is Jacksonville, the closest big city to Gville and biggest base. If they're going through a distaster, rough to concentrate on football an hour or so away from that.
5) There still an (unlikely) chance that this benefits one of both of us. If we both win out, UT drops to Bama and aTM, aTm beats Bama & Ole Miss beats aTM, we play in Atlanta.
It sucks overall but sometimes sh*t happens. Make due.

Fred, I still think the game could be played in Gainesville.
Maybe not at 11:00, but later. A night game would be great.
As I stated before, the game has to be played (SEC vs SEC).

Hey Make Doo Gator fan:
LSU has given up home field advantage in light of a natural disaster before.
Quit rationalizing a wuss move by your cowardly douche coach.

Or the SEC could have stepped up and moved the game instead of messing up other teams schedules or completely canceling a game. If the game doesn't play this week, one of those two are going to happen. Why should LSU have to give up a home game to make it up if they make it up on the USA weekend. Or why should we have to give up our scheduled bye week bc florida refused to lose a home game bc of something that is beyond anyone else's control?

Because there's a fricking hurricane in your backyard, moron.
If you're not pushovers, why would you be afraid to contest it at a neutral site? We were game. You weren't.

I get what you're saying and it's a totally rational and reason question but in my opinion, it should be up to Florida as to what to do. They said either we're playing it in on our field, in front of our fans or we're not playing it at all and take the advantage given by it. The SEC shouldn't have the power to force a team to give up home field advantage (which we all know is huge in college football).
You can agree with Florida's reasoning or not, but some of the takes I've read on here are outrageous. It's a business decision. You just happened to be on the wrong side of this one.

Its not up to Florida, its ultimately up to the SEC and they blew it.

It's a business decision in favor of Florida not LSU if we have to lose a home game
I don't blame Florida for doing what they did here. I blame the SEC for letting it play out this way.

They have the power to declare a forfeit.
Which, right now, given the options presented to your school which were rejected, is exactly what they should be doing.

No. UF is lower than that. UF took advantage of a natural disaster to dodge a football game.

First of all, UF had plenty of time to find an alternate site. Everyone knew the hurricane was coming.

Yes we know. Obviously why UF drug its feet.

It could/would have been at 11am on a Saturday without much notice. Tiger Stadium would have been half empty and dead
And, back to my original point––if UF actually wanted to play, they could have begun alternate arrangements on Tuesday.

Another location other than Baton Rouge could have been chosen.
UF handling of this entire situation was piss poor and that is being nice.
Things could have been totally different if early in the week Foley comes out and says: We are aware of the potential for Hurricane Mathew to affect the scheduled game this weekend and are working with LSU, the SEC, and local authorities.
By Wednesday he could have come out and said we are looking at alternatives for game as far as times and locations but we are still optimistic that we will have a game in Gainesville.
Today he could have come out and said that many alternatives have been looked at, but do to the uncertainty around the projected forecast path and the potential for damages to the area of a Category 4 hurricane we will continue the monitor the situation. However, the game will most likely have to be postponed until a later date which we will be working with LSU and the SEC to make it happen.
Instead what happened was nothing to worry about game is on schedule until less than forty eight hours before game time I still that game I still postponed. Foley then goes on to lie that LSU was given an alternative and refused.
So understand why LSU fans are pissed. Not playing benefits Florida and hurts LSU.
Stay safe Florida. I hope everyone is spared from damage and harm with the exception of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, I hope that the gators can't play a game there for at least two years because of the way that the UF administration handled this situation.

LSU offered to play Sunday, with only game personnel should services for police/ems be needed elsewhere. So you can throw this excuse out.

Yeah. Buy off South Alabama, give up a home date and all the revenue that entails, and come play in Gainesville at their convenience. Some "alternative" there.
Even Alleva couldn't NOT say "frick you" to that "alternative".
