so Gainesville will be supplying the coastal cities with their law enforcement, first responders and other assets to assist?

I would think the coastal cities, state troopers, and national guard should have that covered.

Ok man. You have it all figured out.

If I were you, I'd email the SEC office and UF officials with your plan. I'm sure they haven't taken ANY of this stuff into consideration.

You're right, Steve. NOPD was PLENTY enough after Katrina, oh, and J.P.S.O. out here in Metairie and on the West Bank. Orleans Parish Levee board filled the gap- in the levees, where they were breached, no outside help came.

Entergy New Orleans handled ALL the power issues, too. Not a single lineman came from anywhere else to help connect power lines and homes back onto the grid.
