I'd be right there with you. The left-handed bat excuse ain't cutting it for me if this happens, sorry...and I know Cogs had some good games late, but c'mon.

No one mention 2008 playoffs again. What a pathetic performance
Both of Lou's playoff teams gave weak performances, looked very, very tight. Body language from jump told me they wouldn't win.
I don't see that under Joe.

Beefense where'd you score tickets?

I said over 100 wins before the season started. Everybody railed me for it. Unless there a total collapse I see nobody beating this team.
Looks like all curses will be broken this fall

Maddon announces #Cubs rotation for NLDS: Lester, Hendricks, Arrieta, Lackey
Posted on 10/4/16 at 3:02 pm to hawgndodge
My hope is that Hendricks isn't a mirage. His season has been incredible, but playoff baseball is just a different animal.

No real surprise there. I like Hendricks at home against the Mets/Giants #3. Game 3 could be Arrieta vs Bumgarner again if the Giants win tomorrow night. Really need Jake to dig down deep and find what he was missing his last several starts.

I think that's why he's getting that home start. He needs the crowd. If he can get through the first couple innings with a lead he'll be locked in
Posted on 10/4/16 at 4:16 pm to hawgndodge
I am still thinking of Arrieta of last year. So, so good. Not being able to bring him back practically speaking seems like a mistake. Hopefully, I'm wrong and Hendricks continues baffling hitters in Madduxish fashion.

I'm hoping the offense shows up early in games. Keeps the crowd in it and any defensive screw ups won't be as hard to overcome.

shite, I'm more worried about Arrieta and the late season swoon than I am Hendricks. Guy has been rock solid all year (which has me rock solid thinking about it.)

Madden Talks about pressure

Chicago led the majors in ERA and finished third in scoring. And the Cubs were particularly good late in games.
They pulled out 14 wins in their final at-bat, including a victory at Cincinnati in the season-finale, and only two teams scored more runs from the seventh inning on.
