The problem is all the people on campus without tickets creating a good 20-25% extra traffic.

you care to offer a single shred of evidence that people leaving early has reduced traffic congestion?

i'll bump this thread after every game waiting for you to do so.

And it's also what makes LSU tailgating so great.

You'd think they could set up a system where some people park over there, take a ferry across the river, and then walk or go by bus to the stadium area.

Build a Chunnel from campus to other side of river and run Contra flow the other direction.

try as much as an extra 2 hours. If you have a 3+ hour drive already, adding another 2 hours to traffic home is very notable.

The OP is dead on.

Those who have lifestyles that allow them to wait, or who live close, cannot process this issue.

Furthermore, as a season ticket holder with a TAF fee, if you can't make all the games, or need to sell some tickets, you can expect to get a lot less for the ticket than you paid, if you can even sell it.

The last 10K addition was bad on many fronts.

It's really easy not to get stuck in traffic after games.

You must park in a shitty spot. I was back to prairieville in 20 minutes last night.

While some major improvements (adding lanes, etc) could be done, which would take plenty of time and money, the people controlling the traffic seem to be creating bigger problems instead of helping.

Perfect example...

We park near highland. Last week they were sending traffic in two directions to get onto highland. One stayed on the main drag, leading up to a red light to turn onto highland. Once the line was long for that area people were diverted to a road to go around and catch highland by going a block further. People that were directed to red light at highland were forced to turn off of highland and go through other area (not the best neighboorhood, but still) and get to interstate that way. People who were directed to side road to get to highland had to turn left and stay on highland. This created no traffic issue on highland because the ones going to red light on main drag were forced to turn off.

Now fast forward to this week. Everybody was forced to go by way of main drag onto highland. Didn't allow access to side road to get there. That is problem 1 that caused conjestion. Then to compound that, they usually allow travel towards interstate in turning lane and regular lane. They did this, but cut it off really quickly this week, forcing two lanes to merge into one. Created tons more traffic.

So the problem is just as much the idiots directing the traffic. It's like they have no plan and wing it every single week.

I don't see why we don't just put a high speed monorail that goes from the La Berge to New Orleans maybe even back around lake P.

Then shuttle people from the casino to the stadium on buses.

Fewer cars equals less traffic. La Berge gets more foot traffic so they are happy. Ticket holders don't have to worry about driving home drunk. Tickets would be no different than paying for gas, but could be used for state revenue.

Win in all directions.

I love all these people leaving early.
I watch the the whole game.
Then take a leisurely walk to my car. Eat a sandwich and listen to the postgame show. After the coach's interviewed I leave.
By then it's 15 minutes to the interstate.
Thanks to all that leave early, it allows me to watch the whole game and avoid traffic.

As far as LSU administration or local politicians upgrading infrastructure don't get your hopes up. They have your ticket money and have no reason to make things easier on ticket holders.

I agree with absolutely 100% of everything you said. If people that I know had read this, they would think it was me. They have Nicholson, Highland, and every little shite road inbetween them so fricked up it ain't even funny. it blows my mind that Nicholson isn't 4 lanes with a median in the middle. Unfortunately, Highland Rd. will probably never be expanded (at least on campus) because of all of those huge arse oak trees that they inconveniently planted like 2 feet from the damn road.

Left about an hour after the last game was over from the lot next to Lockett Hall. Took about 45 minutes to get from the lot to Highland and Dalrymple are which is about a quarter of a mile.

I will bet that people that left in the 3Q last night sat in the same amount of traffic as I did leaving after the final whistle. Parked right by Walk-Ons and we were home in 45 minutes, a drive which takes about 30 if there were no traffic at all.
15 minutes of traffic? Deal with it, its worse than that Monday-Friday

You ever think that the games being completely boring for 5 hours had anything to do with it?

last night's game was 6:30-10 oclock... 3.5 hours.
And what part of "most offensive yards in an SEC game in school history" was boring? I must've missed that part.

Historically they were long and boring, so people got used to leaving early. I suspect they'll start staying longer and longer

While I agree, it would do nothing to help traffic

When lsu played Notre dame in 1998, it took us over four hours to get back to chicago.

Difference? No one in that fan base bitches and leaves early
