Funny, I could say the same about Alabama.
Look, the truth is the region, since the dawn of civilization, has been filled by warlike people.
If they aren't ruled by a strong ruler, then tribalism is their base setting.
The people there are circumstances of their birth like anything else.
Root out the fundamentalism and bring back secularism and westernism. Islam is the cancer, not the people.

you make my point but your liberal remedies wont work.
I wrote a constitution for Iraq for the CPA...much of it was used... western values/private property rights, negative rights as to government(freedom from, not freedom of) so as to enlarge positive rights...
No hope or salvation for those people. Lost cause... Only decision is do you want to put your family in harms way? Because they are coming, not if but when.
