Nick went 9-2 his last year at MSU and that really boosted his stock. If he hadn't gone 9-2 at MSU he wouldn't have been considered for the LSU job. He did a really good rebuilding program at MSU given the fact he had scholarship limitations due to probation.

if Nick had gone 7-4 his last year at MSU he wouldn't have been hired at LSU and he might have even been fired at MSU.
