re: Under Miles, How Did This Team Go 2-2?

The receivers dropping balls didn't help. It also sounds like he had the team do very little film work on their opponents. This could also explain the lack of halftime adjustments. He focused on what his team could do and not what the other team did. Etling's remarks about staying up late watching film on his own explains a lot. May also explain why Harris looked great in practice but not so great in games when the defense would change......

Using the same formula for underachieving he's used for the last 5+ years, i.e., don't engineer your O around the skill-set of the QB so you never have to trust him.

I was suspect of the O line before the season and felt it was over rated. No push cant protect. That's it in a nutshell.

Miles had Gundy in Ok St which made him look competent on offense. He then stepped into a talent pool most coaches never see in their lifetime and used the coaches in place to keep the ship on course. He parlayed Saban's senior class into a back door championship. Honeybadger was the greatest player I've ever seen and beat WVU and Arky on the way to 2011. Then Mett landed in his lap by finger banging a sororitute and saved his arse for a couple more years.
He's a really good recruiter, good players coach, obviously does what he feels is right for his players.
As far as the actual physical game of football goes, he is outright terrible. Whoever we hire will be a better coach at the game of football. As far as the other intangibles, no idea. But we got that going for us, which is nice...

same thing we have come to see the last 4 years or so.
1 - Really bad offense that can't sustain drives and stay on the field.
2 - Defense that stays on the field way too long and gets gassed.
3 - Bad punts/short fields for opponents.
Added to this year that the WR position hasn't performed up to par AT ALL! O-line hasn't really given either QB much time. Harris was 1 read only....Etlig makes reads but is usually under duress when he throws it.

It is because he did not have the balls to fire his buddy Cam last year and bring in a high profile spread offensive minded OC. If he would have got a new OC it probably would not have helped cause ol Les would have had that choke collar really tight on him cause he loves the toss dive to much

didn't lsu fail on 4th down at Wisconsin and 3rd down at auburn with the same toss play?
