I see it differently.

Press in all niches all over this country now want to be influencers to the news, not just reporters of it.

They were part of F King's optics that stopped Miles from being fired last year. So they influenced the news. Their reporting fit in just right with the outcome.

This week... not so much. Hence, if they weren't part of the influence, then it must've been the wrong decision and they will tell everybody they can that it was wrong. And they will damn sure do it before results are in. If CEO runs the table, we won't hear any retractions. If he loses 5 games, we will see montages of all the talking heads saying this was a bad idea every week.
