Still in the running so far:

Sig
FN
Beretta
Glock

I think Glock will win but I think Sig has a legit shot also. Beretta and FN don't have a chance imo.

I like the FNX Tactical in 45. I also like the Glock platform for a striker fired pistol, although the Walther is a smoother shooter imo.

What pistols are FN, Sig, and Glock submitting for the selection process?

After seeing how the Army did carbine evaluations and ACU camo replacement, it'll be a miracle if this isn't screwed up.

Ok, although I read the linked article, I've not done any other research. Consequently I'll admit my lack of information. Having said that, what's the difference between a "Modular Handgun System" and the usual handguns we're all familiar w/ e.g. the Glock Models 17 and 19?

Not surprising. Military arms channel is doing a series of torture tests (water, sand, dirt, mud) currently and the M&P 9mm failed it pretty badly.
