I have read that Patterson might be interested in LSU. Its true that TCU has big donors and can pay a lot of money. But money is only one of the two biggest factors that drive where a coach chooses to go.
The other factor, at least in college football, is what school gives one the best chance to win a national championship. A kissing cousin to this benefit is national exposure.
In the tv show Cheers, the theme song talks about a bar where you can go to and everyone knows your name. Everyone knows Les Miles name, he won a national championship at LSU and became a favorite on ESPN.
Outside of the more hardcore college football fans, no one knows Pattersons' name. Test it out, ask your wife who he is, or ask some more casual fans.
LSU is a school where more people will know his name and where he can get the talent to go for the real brass ring.
No one on here really knows if Patterson would leave TCU or not, I sure do not. He is on a lot of lists being published and I think there is enough out there fro him to be in the conversation.
