Deep down, no one wants Briles to the SEC because they know he'll have LSU lighting up defensive secondary's in 1-2 years and he'll immediately change the status quo of the SEC.

Winner or loser - that is just a huge liability and would be a legal albatross around the whole league. Which is why Sankey might step in. Pretty sure somewhere in the conference rules they have an "out" via a morals clause or some behavior detrimental to the league.
