Just saw the early show. Denzel is a bad MFer. Great acting, great comedy, great action. If you're into westerns, this is it.
Eta: never seen the original

Glad to hear it's good. The trailer I watched made it look like a Vin Diesel movie.

Does the original theme music return

I heard it was very meh so not getting too excited. Looks to have a little wild Wild West to it.
I have a theory that people that get to see early preview movies feel special or VIP because they are getting to see it, and thus tend to overrate the movies.
I remember the people who got a sneak of Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman saying how amazing it was

you know there's nothing "special or VIP" about an early preview right? all I did was order my tickets online like the rest of the normal people at the show. Most theatres in BR were showing the movie last night.

I liked it but probably wont ever watch it again. QT movies arent really my thing.

Man, that was a bland, predictable movie. The villain was a ridiculous cartoon.

What is your definition of a "classic western"? I'm going to have to question your true western film knowledge giving the fact you have never seen the original.

Good movie. A worthy remake of the "original" with Brynner and McQueen.

Very enjoyable. Interactions between all of the characters was great. The battle scene at the end of very exciting. Very good movie.

I was not a big fan of it. It was entertaining but mediocre at best.
I prefer westerns to be more gritty and dark than hip and edgy.

Man this movie was pretty meh. The humor fell flat, the characters weren't developed at all, just a cheesy caricature of a western with a couple of big names and lots of squibs.

Just got back. I really enjoyed it. One of the better movies this year. The mexican guy was my favorite. Some funny parts too.

There is nothing special about it, but Pratt, D'Onofrio and Hawke all add enough to their characters to be fun to watch and Denzel is Denzel still.
It won't win anything, but you hate the villain, root for the underdogs and get a satisfying ending. Didn't know this til I sat down in the theater but this was written by Nic Pizzolatto.

I saw the original with Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen a few times growing up as kid and liked. So, I look forward to seeing this remake, but the previews make it look over the top. I am a western movie guy from Randolph Scott, Gary Cooper, Joel McCrea, the Duke John Wayne all the way up to Clint Eastwood.
been watching Western week on AHC channel and wouldn't mind seeing Denzel make another western playing that Black bounty hunter they patterned the Lone Ranger after. I can't think of his name right now, but it should be a good movie with Denzel playing the character.

It seemed to be copying the hateful 8 theme, or ridiculous six.
