Probably good advice. The ones I found via google all show adding the rice (cooked I suppose) to the crockpot at the end of the cook, which defeats the purpose.

Your pot isn't holding the heat good enough. If your pot is oven safe make it like you normally do, when you add your rice and it comes to a boil, put it a preheated 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes to cook the rice. Other than that the only solution is to buy a new pot. I suggest either Magnalite or an enamel coated cast iron.
