Etling needs to work on timing and putting more zip on the pass for out routes and comebacks. I'm fearful of upcoming Ds...
The timing will come with more play.
He threw 3 "outs" that didn't have "zip" on them.
The first was to Dupre when he couldn't step into the throw because two unblock defenders were bearing down on him. Nevertheless, he threw it with such timing (before Dupre came out of his break) that Dupre ended up being wide open
The second was a deep corner that was supposed to have air on it. The pass just didn't get to the endzone (and Chark dropped it)
The third was an out to Chark that he had to throw with some touch to get in over the underneath defender (Chark made a great catch). If he throws it on a line, it may have been a pick 6.
There were other times that he stuck the ball into receivers over the middle and near the side lines.
Compared to Harris, DE's arm is "weak". However, just about every one of Harris' throws are rockets regardless of it the receiver is 20 yards away or 5.

I tend to agree, it seems like there were times when he could have put some more into it, but he was able to get the ball to his wide outs consistently and thats what matters. I'd rather a touch pass to an open receiver than a rocket 12 feet off the ground into a crowd of defenders.

You'll see more improvement as he gets more practice reps with the ones(ie D&D) and adjusts more to them.
I already saw some improvement last week.

What makes you think he has a weak arm? Harris is like a relief pitcher, throw it hard everytime which is completely unnecesaary.

There were 3 passes that would have been picks against better D. That's why he needs to put zip on those outs and comebacks
