Did a search and checked first two pages and don't see a thread on it. Saw it last night. Good movie. Should be required viewing for all Americans. And this guy should get a ticker tape parade in New York, in my opinion.

The documentary is better and tells a much more realistic story. The movie is garbage.

I know it's garbage to movie snobs like you on this board. I'm speaking to the people here who don't analyze every nuance of a movie like they are Siskel and Ebert. I'm sure Stone took some liberties but he told a good, entertaining story and got the message across.

I saw the documentary. I don't need to see Oliver Stone's take on it. It looks like he made him into a super spy. No thanks.

There is nothing super spy about him in the movie, just super computer nerd who got swayed by the vag.

Making a relevant person have a make believe love interest or adding a couple of random things in as filler to lengthen the film or add more story/conflict, whatever, is one thing.
Making Edward Snowden look like a modern day Jason Bourne is just way too over the top and that's why I have no interest in seeing this.
It also doesn't help that he literally committed treason.

Love when people make assumptions about movies they haven't seen yet. Snowden isn't some James Bonf type person in the movie. He's just a normal guy who exposes the government's illegal activities. The movie was pretty good

Yeah leaking additional millions of documents regarding defense and intelligence that had nothing to do with civil liberties while aiding Russia definitely deserves a parade.

There's no evidence he aided Russia whatsoever. But please continue to wear that tinfoil hat while Fox News tell you how bad of a guy Snowden is. Maybe if the government hadn't violated the constitution and illegally spyed on the entire world he wouldn't have leaked it.

I'm not a movie snob.

I never watch Fox News (actually hate it and I'm not a Republican!) but thanks. The recent US House Intelligence Committee report is my preferred source. If you want to believe he gets harboured by Russia with nothing in return go for it.

Yeah there's no way the government would flip the story to make them look like the good guys. Snowden wasn't supposed to be in Russia until the government revoked his passport. But, if you want to believe Snowden is the villain the government paints him to be, you go a head and live in that world

Snowden is a hero and I sincerely hope president Trump brings him home.

No he's not.

At the very least he is a whistle blower that isn't getting treated like it because he exposed the government. He's more of a hero than the loser that is in charge right now.

Anyone who risks his life and surrenders all he has to expose our corrupt federal government and our corrupt media, who carries their water at our expense, is a hero.
He's not a perfect and flawless human being but he is a hero in the truest sense of the word.
I would rather stand with Edward Snowden than three-fourths of the politicians in washington.
You can do as you please.

He exposed the massive illegal actions taken by the government both foreign and domestic. He knew that he could possibly face an unfair trial if he got caught, but decided to shine light on the problem anyway.
Now the government is trying to spin it in their favor which is incredibly pathetic.
